    Cat Repellants

A lot of people are often faced with the quandary of how to keep the cats away from their yard. Since cats are naturally unpredictable, cat repellants should be integrated into the landscape design if you don’t have some pesky feline intruders in your property. So what are the best ways to keep them out of your yard?

Water – if you want to keep cats away, you need to think like a cat. By closely observing a cat’s behavior, you’ll most probably come up with the conclusion that these fussy creatures share a particular dislike with water. If Superman abhors kryptonite, then water has a certain degree of having the same effect with these felines. If you happen to catch a stray cat in your yard, you can try hosing them down and drenching them with water, a full blast would probably give them that general idea to keep out of your property. Installing sprinklers is also a great alternative, if you don’t mind the extra expense.

Commercial Repellants – there are a number of commercial cat repellants that are readily available in the market. “Shake Away” is among the popular brands that bear the distinct scent of the predator’s urine that cats would want to stir clear such as cayotes, foxes and bobcats. You can also plant some lavender, rue and pennyroyal that many cats and other pests dislike.

Other Alternative Substances – if you don’t to spend money on some expensive commercial repellant, some common household products can easily do the trick. Mothballs, cayenne pepper flakes and ammonia are among the best ways that get rid of the unwelcome critters.
