    Wise Community-Wide Mosquito Control

    Mosquitoes are annoying - and dangerous. Mosquito control has been a problem since Jurassic. We need to be able to find a way to control them at least in our era and area. So how do we do it?

    First things to consider are the following:

    Mosquito control could be done naturally (citronella, garlic barrier, mosquito dunks);
    Mosquito control could be innovative (protective clothing, screens, mosquito netting, adhesive fly trap, high-tech traps, or electric fan);
    Mosquito control includes use of chemicals (larva-/adulti-/insecti-/ pesticide, mosquito fogger, mosquito sprays, DDT repellant).
    Mosquito control involves health and science (habitat modification/removal, bio-control/introduction of natural mosquito predators);
    And, Mosquito control could be prevented.

    Some of these measures, however, are often not enough, and a special combination with specialty products used to combat mosquitoes is required. Also each of the products used for mosquito control have varying degrees of effectiveness, and it is important to know that some may be better than others. Yet one way or another, doing none of these things will end you up either having a sting irritation or dengue.

    All throughout the world, mosquitoes have been infecting millions with mosquito borne diseases including West Nile Virus, Malaria, Encephalitis even allergies. Since anyone could be affected, then also anyone could do something. If people just become more conscious of their health and safety and start protecting themselves then the thousands dying from the diseases will be reduced significantly. Chances are, if you kill a single larva waiting to hatch, or just one adult blood-sucker then you do not only save yourself but also the pest's other meals. Which is why, starting from one's personal precaution, mosquito control should become a community-wide effort.

    If you keep on disposing your standing water but the neighbor's pond keeps on lodging the enemy, then soon enough you will all be swatting and eventually get stung. But this though doesn't need to end in fist fight. Hand your neighbor a mosquito dunk, or suggest having fish in his pond or fountain for moving water. You can even share a mosquito trap/ magnet in an area to suck in your mosquitoes and his.
    Sometimes you'll think that little things make a difference; other times it seems as if there is no easy way to do this. Yet mosquito control is quite necessary in one form or another. Anything you do to prevent mosquitoes from breeding means you will have less to worry about in the weeks and months to come. Just educate yourself, help each other, a few simple precautions are all you need to feel safe plus you can all enjoy having a beautiful but mosquito-free safe water garden.
